Isn’t it too darn hot? Rather, I should say it’s too darn RED hot.
I don’t own any, but I am completely obsessed with red dresses right now–especially those at the knee or slightly above it. Patterned, darker, lighter, brighter, or muted–this look is awesome and it is not something I see too often on the street.
Good thing, because I was never a fan of the maxi dress anyway.
Some of my favorite looks are below, the pictures are from New York Magazine, and keep cool for the tiny bit of summer we have left to enjoy. And make sure to look forward to my weekly CSA post tomorrow–the heat got me a tad bit distracted from blogging yesterday 😉

For some reason writing this post was not coming easy to me. I kept writing, and rewriting–nothing. Truth is, there is not much to say about this collection, but maybe that is what I like about it. It is basic, the pieces are seemingly classic, but for each look there is a detail that is unique, just slightly different from everything else like it. Kind of like blogging, you can keep writing and writing, and a post is just a post–but sometimes everything just works. Also, oh my goodness. Those shoes!
Here’s to chasing those kinds of moments, whether its fashion or my silly thoughts online. For more, check here at nymag.com.
I have no idea how those businessmen and lawyers stand the hot weather in their suits. The five minutes I wait for the train in the morning are enough to melt a popsicle or fry an egg. Between a hot commute and a cold office it is a wonder we find something to wear at all.
But it’s a good thing we do.
With fall around the corner I am excited for weather that is a bit more flexible so I can start wearing layers and long hemlines again. If I had my choice I would wear the looks from Sonia Rykiel’s Pre-Fall collection, with respectable hemlines and rich, gem tones, I am a girl obsessed.
I am also quite a fan of the styling of the photographs. Gorgeous looks arriving through the door? If only it was that easy. Check here for the rest of the collection via NY Mag!
Before this year I hated nail polish.
I know, so girly.
But you have to admit there is something so frustrating about maintaining those glossy, perfectly polished nails. Everything goes downhill for me after two days, but it’s nice when it lasts of course.
I painted my nails last night a peachy coral color, but I could not keep it that simple. So, now one of my nails is mint green! For this week, instead of a typical fashion collection post, here is one dedicated to my favorite peachy/coral/orangey looks with some mint green sprinkled in for fun.

After watching the London Olympics every night, it is finally setting in that I am going to be studying abroad in London this fall. While I won’t be passing a flaming torch or running for gold, I am excited to be in a place with such history, especially in a city pumped up from the recent games.
Lately, I have been freaking out about packing for the trip. How am I supposed to do this? If you have any tips for world traveling, please feel free to comment below. I need all the help I can get, one semester+one suitcase=Huh?
But if I had my choice (and struck gold), I would easily fill my suitcase with clothing from the Temperley London Fall 2012 RTW collection. The clothing, by London based designer Alice Temperley, is striking on the runway with gowns that look as elegant as the skirts. I love the patterns, and do I wish I could of worn that white gown to prom?
Maybe a little.
Enjoy my favorites below (all pictures are from NY Mag!) and see the entire collection here.
Oh yes, the clothing from this duo is great. The colors are not obnoxious (just perfect actually) and the collection would make anyone look office smart. I like the separate pieces, but the runway looks are even better. While nothing special in the scheme of things, this collection could be recreated with more affordable fashion options. Only problem is I worry for those models, to put it lightly they look like crap, tired and hungry…Check out more here @ NYMag.
Take a quick look at your closet. See any corals or yellows? No? Do you live in New York? Even for a place infamous for its dark color palate the trends are insidious.
It seems like it is impossible to avoid color trends, like this summer’s brights. From toenails to headbands you can wear any color your heart desires. But sometimes you are not feeling like it, even on the brightest or hottest of city days. I like Abaeté Fall 2009 RTW collection for its subdued hues that would work perfectly alongside brighter, and trendier colors. Some of the pieces in the collection are more intense than others, but my favorites are below because I could imagine actually wearing them with other clothing I already own. Take a look at them with pictures from NY Mag and look at the entire collection here.
